The most delightful part of learning java from my late summer notes

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

I started this because my late summer felt a little stuck, and tools seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the first draft for a while.

Do you think this would work in a smaller place than Mexico City?

I do not have a strong take, but the part detail is useful. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the train station.

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about notes. That is where the boring checklist helps.

I disagree a bit. delightful matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. The low-effort version is probably the keeper. I would love to see the benchmark numbers.

Small caveat: context changes the answer a lot.

That is a good question for people with more experience than me. For me it came down to the practice run. Naming things remains undefeated as the hardest problem.
